PM expresses appreciation for Zamil Group

During his recent visit to Saudi Arabia to attend the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council Summit on October 18, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his accompanying high-ranking Vietnamese delegation met with several leaders from the country's government, major corporations, and large investment funds.

Upon landing at Riyadh airport, Prime Minister Chinh and his entourage met with leaders of Zamil Group, including Zamil Industrial Investment Company (ZIIC), and Zamil Steel Vietnam.

The meeting featured delegates from Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant bodies, as well as several Zamil Group representatives.

PM Chinh acknowledged Zamil Steel's contribution to the development of Vietnam's economy thanks to its two factories here which have created over 1,000 jobs and fuelled the country's exports, and he expressed his hope that the group would consider expanding production activities to other areas.

During the meeting, the chairman of Zamil Group, Abdulrahman Al Zamil, extended a warm welcome to Chinh and expressed his appreciation for the Vietnamese government's support of Zamil Group and Zamil Steel Vietnam's activities over the past twenty-six years.

Al Zamil stated the group's development strategy in the Vietnamese market and expressed his desire that Vietnam would create additional policy refinements for the group to export products to the region.

At the Vietnam-Saudi Arabia Business Forum in Riyadh on October 19, Chinh witnessed the signing of an agreement to strengthen investment in Zamil Steel Vietnam until the end of the decade. Nawaf Al Zamil, president of Zamil Steel Holding Company, and Mohammed Al Sahib, CEO of ZIIC were also present.

Zamil Group considers Vietnam to be one of its key strategic markets, as well as a gateway for expansion into the Asia-Pacific market, with Zamil Steel currently one of Saudi Arabia's largest investors in Vietnam. The company also plays an active role in connecting Vietnamese and ASEAN businesses with the economies of the Persian Gulf.

During the meeting, Abdulrahman Al Zamil gladly accepted an invitation from Chinh to visit Vietnam to witness the country's development and explore new investment opportunities.
