On November 17, the ministry of Planning and Investment's (MPI) National Innovation Center (NIC) and CMC Corporation's CMC University signed a cooperation agreement.

The agreement was inked at the launch and opening ceremony of the first semester of CMC University – Vietnam’s first digital university – for the 2022-2023 school year. The NIC will support CMC in establishing an innovation centre operated by the corporation to promote Vietnam's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

With the mission of supporting enterprises in innovation, promoting technology transfer, research, development, and commercialisation, NIC will cooperate with CMC to research, propose and deploy new solutions related to innovation, digital transformation, and development of the digital space for local businesses.

The two sides have committed to accompany and implement activities under the Vietnam Innovation Initiative (InnovateVN) and propose and implement innovative solutions within the framework of the Vietnam Innovation Challenge programme from CMC Group and its partners to apply in enterprises and localities.

CMC University does not follow a virtual university model but instead applies new technology to create new training disciplines.
