Vietnam boasts a rich culinary culture thanks to a combination of its long-standing heritage, the sophistication and abundance of local ingredients, processing methods, and regional flavours. Cuisine is a significant attraction for tourists.
In 2023, Nestlé Vietnam, alongside the Maggi brand, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Tourism Information Centre and VNAT to implement the initiative, placing renowned Vietnamese ingredients and dishes on the culinary map. In 2024, the initiative focused on the theme 'Exploring golden ingredients: making Vietnamese cuisine famous' to promote the unique local ingredients that are often overlooked, such as figs – a speciality fruit of Hue.
By introducing and preparing fig dishes through influential content creators, the programme contributed to honouring the diverse cultural and culinary values of Hue and promoted the development of tourism. The initiative has created an online culinary map with thousands of local dishes shared by Vietnamese food lovers.
In 2025, the map will be upgraded to a database and a reliable destination for Vietnamese cuisine lovers who want to learn about local ingredients and dishes.
Speaking at the opening of the Hue - Culinary Capital Festival 2025, Tran Thi Thao Giang, corporate relations manager of Nestlé Vietnam, said, “We are proud to accompany the festival where culinary artists, culture, and travel lovers come together to share, explore, and celebrate the unique values of Hue cuisine. Our presence demonstrates the strong commitment of the Maggi brand, Nestlé Vietnam, the Tourism Information Centre, and VNAT to support and develop Vietnamese cuisine and tourism, including the rich culinary heritage of Hue.”
Maggi has been present in Vietnam since 1935, accompanying generations of Vietnamese families and making positive differences to bring generations closer, connecting the community, and protecting the planet. Maggi cooperates with partners to carry out schemes to inspire and make positive differences to the community through a passion for cooking and healthy lifestyles, as well as supporting startups in the culinary field.
