This year also marks the 30th anniversary of Nestlé and Nestlé MILO in Vietnam, during which time the company has worked with various organisations to nurture the health of Vietnam's youth through the Activ Vietnam initiative. Through the scheme, millions of children now have access to sports programmes, either organised or sponsored by Nestlé MILO, such as the Phu Dong Sports Festival, which features football, basketball, athletics, aerobics, and vovinam. Nestlé MILO also sponsors Vietnamese athletes in domestic and international tournaments such as the SEAGames and Olympics.
Le Bui Thi Mai Uyen, director of MILO and Dairy Products at Nestlé Vietnam, said, "Long-distance running is an exciting sport that requires athletes to have both physical and mental strength. Nestlé MILO is proud to have sponsored the Tien Phong Marathon for the past decade, underscoring our long-term commitment to endurance sports."
According to a study, 92 per cent of Vietnamese mothers want to improve their children's endurance, giving them enough energy to excel in their daily activities. Nestlé MILO has collaborated with the National Institute of Nutrition in a clinical trial lasting over three months, with results showing that drinking MILO daily, combined with physical activity, helps children become more resilient.
"Nestlé MILO hopes to inspire nearly 7,000 Vietnamese and international athletes to achieve their best results, thereby inspiring endurance for the Vietnamese young generation. With a long day full of schoolwork and extracurricular activities, children need stamina to stay productive throughout the day," said Uyen.
At the tournament, Nestlé MILO also offered many interesting experiences for athletes, parents, and children. Participants had the opportunity to participate in physical challenges, receive attractive gifts, and stay energised before entering the race.
