The event was co-organised by Education New Zealand (ENZ), New Zealand Embassy Hanoi, and the New Zealand Consulate General Ho Chi Minh City.

Addressing the event, the New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam, Tredene Dobson said, “Education has always been at the centre of the New Zealand-Vietnam relationship. It has fuelled development and trade connections, but most importantly – it supports our people to people connections. We are so looking forward to welcoming back the hard-working, capable students of Vietnam who bring with them the vibrant Vietnamese culture."

Dobson added, "We are also looking forward to restarting our scholarship programmes specifically for Vietnamese students in the near future. New Zealand Education Fair 2022 is a great opportunity for Vietnamese parents and students to get the latest information about New Zealand education, and how our providers can support the next generation of Vietnamese business leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists, tech-moguls, and creatives,” she said.

Lisa Futschek, general manager for International at ENZ, expressed her hope that the fair will become a potential link between Vietnamese students and New Zealand education.

She said, "We refer to our international students as new because, after studying there, you'll find a new version with fresh perspectives and experiences. We hope that as you start your academic adventure in New Zealand, you may open your heart and embrace the cultural values of this beautiful nation. In the meanwhile, we eagerly anticipate welcoming to New Zealand the essence of the various cultures from overseas students.”

The event in Hanoi also witnessed the MoU signing ceremony between Skills Consulting Group from New Zealand and the Hanoi Vocational College of High Technology, providing numerous study, internship, and employment opportunities for Vietnamese students in an effort to foster cooperation in the field of vocational training, particularly high-tech vocational training.

Being a part of the event in Ho Chi Minh City, New Zealand's Skills Consulting Group and the local Foreign Service Center also celebrated the MoU signing ceremony.

Joining New Zealand Education Fair 2022, parents and students had been consulted one-on-one with school representatives on study options in line with each individual student’s orientation and capacity, as well as be updated on supporting policies for international students.

At the same time, students in Vietnam also accessed a range of valuable scholarships at various levels of study, including government scholarships, individual ones, and scholarships offered exclusively for Vietnam.
