The document stated that to promptly reassure consumers and prevent negative impacts on the production and supply chain of livestock, the MoAE requested the Ministry of Public Security to investigate, verify, and clarify information spread on social networks and strictly handle organisations and individuals who violated the law.

According to a report by the MoAE's Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine released on June 2, an interdisciplinary inspection team from Soc Trang province, including representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Health, Department of Industry and Trade, and the local police, had conducted surprise inspections of C.P. Fresh Shop stores in the province.

The team did not find any signs of disease or rotten pork or chicken products that had been circulating. However, the inspection found some errors in administrative procedures. Specifically, the food safety certificates at three shops had expired. Some shops were also unable to provide business registration or food safety training certificates for employees.

To further clarify the suspicions, the inspection team took samples of ground pork at the stores and sent them for testing. The results confirmed that all meat samples were negative for African swine fever, classical swine fever, and blue ear disease.

On May 30, accounts named “Jonny Lieu” on Facebook and “Ngan Tech” on Zalo posted information related to pork and chicken products at C.P. Vietnam. They claimed to be employees of the company who had discovered serious violations that occurred every day, such as selling sick pigs and chickens for half price.

Responding to this claim, on the same day, C.P. Vietnam issued a statement denying the above information, saying that this was a fabrication aimed at damaging the reputation of the business. It said that all images in the articles were of unknown origin with time or location, and not related to C.P.Vietnam's product system.
