The director of the Consular Office of Japan in Danang handed-over the disaster relief to representatives of Vietnam Disaster Management Authority before transporting them to Thua Thien-Hue |
Since early October 2020, torrential rain brought about by storms No.6 and No.7 have caused severe river floods along the coastline of Central of Vietnam. Over 7 million people in the area have been affected and thousands of hectares of crops have been damaged. Since October 16, as a consequence of tropical depressions, torrential downpour has returned and overlapping floods have resulted in heavy losses to human lives and production in the area.
Given the serious aftermaths of these natural disasters, the Party and the government of Vietnam have made efforts and measures to overcome the consequences and mitigate the negative impacts on the populace. Sharing the difficulties and the losses of the Vietnamese people, JICA provided 50 water purifiers and 250 plastic sheets to help people in flood-hit areas overcome the consequences of natural disasters and resume normal life.
