InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort won the most coveted 'World's Leading Green Resort 2018' title

InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, which is invested by Sun Group Corporation and managed by InterContinental Hotel Group, received four prizes at the WTA organised on December 1 in Lisbon, Spain. These prizes are World’s Leading Green Resort 2018, World's Leading Resort Architecture Design 2018, World's Leading Luxury MICE Resort 2018, and World's Leading Luxury Wedding Resort 2018.

While this is the first time “World’s Leading Green Resort 2018” is a category, it is considered the most important of the hundreds of prizes at the WTA and it is recognised as a new standard for resorts.

Graham Cooke, chairman of the WTA, said: “Green is considered the leading requirement for resorts, especially luxury resorts, including green design – harmony with the natural environment – and green relaxation activities. This was our reason for adding this prize in the prize system of the WTA.”

“Hundreds of criteria were built for this prize. One more time, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort overcame the heavy competition to get the votes of experts and customers from over 140 countries to keep the ‘World’s Leading Luxury Resort’ prize for the fourth consecutive year,” said Graham Cooke.

Designed by the “king of resorts” Bill Bensley, the 201 rooms and villas of the resort are nestled in the untamed wilderness of Son Tra peninsula, Danang. The combination of luxury, Vietnam’s traditional culture, and activities to conserve wild nature as well as reach the highest environmental standards were all factors earning InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort this year’s harvest at the WTA.

“Getting the 'World’s Leading Green Resort 2018’ prize marks Sun Group’s efforts in maintaining the sustainable development of the resort and protecting the ecosystem of Son Tra Peninsula. Besides, the remaining prizes are a testimony to the service quality and luxury experience offered by Sun Group at this masterpiece recognised by the world,” said Juan Losada, managing director of the resort.

After six years in operation, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort received hundreds of international prizes. Most recently, in November, the resort continued its hospitality excellence by winning four distinguished Haute Grandeur Excellence Awards, including Best Beach Resort on a Global level, Best Family Resort in Vietnam, Best Destination Wedding Retreat in Vietnam, and Best Villa in Vietnam.

All prizes won by InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort contribute to the global status of the Vietnamese tourism sector.
