HSC named among top 3 public listed companies in Vietnam in 2018

HSC has been chosen as one of the top three public listed companies in Vietnam in 2018

The company (HSC) scooped up the noble title at the second ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards Ceremony (ACGA) held in Malaysia by ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF).

The significant event welcomed Finance Minister of Malaysia Yang Berhormat Tuan Lim Gian Eng as well as leading securities firms and experts from across Southeast Asia.

The ACGA 2018 assessed attending companies based on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) that has five areas: rights of shareholders, equitable treatment of shareholders, role of stakeholders, disclosure and transparency, and responsibility of the board.

The ACGS was set up in accordance with international standards, therefore, its appraisement process is completely fair and objective.

Under this tight process, HSC got high scores in all five areas, resulted in the company becoming one of the top three public listed companies and also the only securities company in Vietnam to receive this honour.

With the commitment to maximise benefits for investors and shareholders, HSC has been actively improving its corporate governance capabilities and always striving to well apply it in line with international practices.

As one of the leading securities companies in Vietnam, HSC always takes the initiative in adhering to corporate governance standards and constantly being innovative in management and governance to increase productivity, from there propelling a high annual growth rate.

This award is expected to bring HSC closer to the international community and increase investor’s faith.

The ACGA was initiated by the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) since 2017.

This year, it drew the attention and the attendance of over 800 guests, including famous securities companies in Southeast Asia, major listed companies in Malaysia, and leading experts and investors.

This award is also a positive leap from the ‘Top Five Best Corporate Governance Companies’ of HSC at the Vietnam Listed Companies Awards (VLCA 2018) in early November by HoSE and HNX, which featured strict review by the four leading auditing companies (Big 4) Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and PwC.

With the efforts in corporate governance and business management, HSC hopes to continue fulfilling its mission of maximising value for shareholders and customers as well as driving the stock market’s development in Vietnam.
