Access to clean drinking water is a challenge for billions of people around the world. In Vietnam, this problem is particularly acute, with many communities struggling to access clean and safe drinking water, especially those hit by typhoons and flooding.
Consumers join forces to bring clean drinking water to communities in need |
In the past few weeks, consumers across the country have joined the meaningful initiative organised by P&G Vietnam and Saigon CO.OP to bring clean drinking water to communities in need.
This not only helps raise awareness about the importance of clean drinking water to the health and wellbeing of communities, but is also successful in encouraging shoppers to make a difference by purchasing P&G products that support the cause.

When buying into P&G Vietnam assorted brands as Ariel, Tide, Downy, Pantene, Head&Shoulders,Gillette, and Pampers, at any participating stores as well as at the website Co.op Online, consumers contribute up to 30 litres of clean water to children and families in need across the country.
This initiative aims to leave a significant impact on improving access to clean drinking water in underprivileged communities.
Together with consumers nationwide, the campaign has garnered a heartfelt support from local authorities as well as celebrities such as Top 5 Miss Universe 2018 H’Hen Niê and MC Quynh Hoa.

Improving health and hygiene in Vietnam
The Children’s Safe Drinking Water programme has been implemented globally by P&G since 2004.
So far, it has brought 21 billion litres of clean drinking water to people in need through P&G Purifier of Water. The programme aims to transform the lives of communities worldwide by providing 25 billion litres of clean drinking water by 2025.

The scheme provides an easy-to-use water purification packet invented by P&G scientists that can clean 10 litres of water in just 30 minutes.
The P&G Purifier of Water technology enables people to purify dirty water in a simple, affordable, and convenient way and reduces the risk of illness caused by contaminated water.
In Vietnam, the P&G Purifier of Water filter powder has been certified by the Ministry of Health.
This impactful initiative has been implemented in Vietnam since 2016. With the support from the Vietnam Red Cross and local authorities, to date, the programme has provided more than 90 million litres of clean drinking water to nearly 150,000 households across more than 10 localities that lack clean water, including Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Long An, An Giang, and Dong Thap.
