The main event on May 4 marked a massive array of unprecedented and incredible experiences for fans, proving that F1 has always been more than a race. For the first time ever, Heineken has purposely turned Sala Residential Area in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City into an extravagant racetrack to pave the way for an epic performance from a real F1 car.
In the evenining of May 5 , Heineken put on a spectacular music event after the F1 experience, headlined by DJ Martin Garrix, the world’s No.1 DJ for two consecutive years (2016 and 2017), supported by cutting-edge performances by leading Vietnamese artists including: My Tam, Tuan Hung, Son Tung MTP and Dong Nhi.
This campaign is also an expansion of Heineken’s long-standing commitment to responsible drinking. The F1 event was used as a platform to raise awareness of the ‘When You Drive, Never Drink’ campaign that was launched by Heineken in September 2017.
Heineken is proud to receive so much support from local influencers and celebrities attending the event to spread the important message of ‘When You Drive, Never Drink’ to fans and followers.

As part of the event, former driver and Heineken F1 Ambassador David Coulthard, the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Team, and the world’s No.1 DJ Martin Garrix arrived in Vietnam to get ready for their much anticipated performances.
David Coulthard enjoyed a long and spectacular racing career during which he raced for three of the most successful teams in the history of Formula One—Williams, McLaren, and Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Team—and, at the time of his retirement, was the highest scoring British Formula One driver of all time. Winning 13 Grand Prix, he finished in the top 3 of the FIA F1 world championship five times with a remarkable 62 podium finishes during 15 seasons.
Now as a Heineken F1 Ambassador to bring the perfect F1 experience to Vietnamese fans for the first time ever, David Coulthard shared: “Since becoming a Heineken F1 Ambassador in 2017, I have had the opportunity to travel to many countries and shared my message and experiences with Heineken and F1 with thousands of people. But your beautiful country is the first country that does not already have a race where I could share and introduce the F1 experience. After seeing the excitement of the people on the street today, I cannot wait to see the reaction when they see a real F1 car in action! We will definitely make as much noise during the day at the F1 experience as Martin Garrix and leading Vietnamese artists will do later tomorrow evening at the spectacular music event.”
Coming to Vietnam for the perfect F1 experience, David Coulthard will not only introduce the glamour of F1 on the racetrack by sitting behind the wheel of the F1 car of the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Team, he will also call on Vietnamese fans to "Think Before You Drive."
