Hanoi was also honoured as Asia's Leading City Break Destination. This marks the third consecutive year Hanoi has been recognised in this category, beating competitors like Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Seoul, and Tokyo.
Additionally, Hanoi was recognised as Vietnam's Leading Cultural Destination at the awards.

During the recent National Day holiday on September 2, Hanoi attracted nearly 59,000 international tourists, a 35.8 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. Top source markets included India, South Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
From late August to early September, Hanoi welcomed 4,500 visitors from Sun Pharmaceuticals, a major Indian pharmaceutical firm owned by Dilip Shanghvi, India’s fifth-richest individual. The group explored prominent attractions, including the Hoa Lo Prison Relic and the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university.
Vietnam was also recognised as Asia's Leading Destination for the sixth time in seven years, surpassing competitors such as China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Singapore.
Alongside Hanoi, many Vietnamese provinces and cities were also honoured for their unique tourism strengths.
Ho Chi Minh City won Asia's Leading Business Travel Destination and Asia's Leading Festival & Event Destination 2024.
Hoi An won the title of Asia's Leading Cultural City Destination for the 5th time, while Moc Chau won Asia's Leading Regional Nature Destination for the third time in a row. Ha Giang won Asia's Leading Regional Cultural Destination, and Ha Nam achieved the title of Asia's Leading Emerging Tourism Destination.
The World Travel Awards, founded in 1993, are widely regarded as the premier accolade in the travel and tourism sector, often likened to the 'Oscars' of the industry. These awards celebrate excellence across various categories, including airlines, hotels, and destinations.
