Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai: putting Vietnam on luxury tourism map

Travel came to a standstill when the pandemic struck over a year ago, with airplanes, trains, and cruise ships emptied. Most of the world hunkered down at home, waiting for conditions to improve. In Vietnam, however, a well-controlled situation meant people were able to enjoy domestic travel and more elaborate staycations for most of the year.

Global COVID-19 vaccine rollouts are allowing stir-crazy travellers to slowly start planning their next getaway – and Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai is helping to inspire those next adventures.

To rate properties, Forbes Travel Guide inspectors stay at each hotel for three days and two nights, posing as regular guests and paying their own way. They test up to 900 objective, stringent standards, from modern-day luxuries to paramount services.

Nevertheless, Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai received high appreciation from the Forbes Travel Guide inspectors after their visit.

Blissful adventure

Well-designated in the heart of the resort is a group of three infinity pools, including one warm pool facing the sea which was highlighted and appreciated by Architecture Digest magazine as one of the world’s most beautiful pools.

The three tiers of cascading infinity pools serve as the resort’s most iconic feature. The first is heated and family-friendly; the second is built for laps; and the third is adults-only and just a few steps away from the beach. The resort’s spa is a blissful oasis with eight floating treatment suites that have indoor-outdoor decks separate from the massage rooms.

Schedule an appointment in the evening to jump straight into the nightly Goodnight Kiss to the Earth ritual that involves crystal singing bowls, music, and lanterns.

This year also sees the launch of a globe-trotting culinary adventure courtesy of The Nam Hai Cooking Academy, an inspiring activity for all family members to share. Nine new programmes invite guests to expand their skills as they discover South Korea’s sizzling street food, India’s fragrant curries, Spain’s tantalising tapas, and more.

“For a hands-on dive into local culture, opt for a lesson at the Nam Hai Cooking Academy. You’ll visit the property’s garden, enjoy a class in a state-of-the-art kitchen, and dig into a Vietnamese lunch starring your own creations,” commented a Forbes Travel Guide inspector.

The inspectors also rated the all-villa oasis as every accommodation is a luxurious villa complete with its own garden, an outdoor rain shower, a bedside bathtub, and a spacious patio with a daybed. Last but not least, there are two bars and two restaurants on the property, offering an extensive selection of delicacies ranging from contemporary interpretations of Vietnamese classics to tandoori delights.

The high rankings for Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai over the last three years strengthens the position of Vietnamese luxury tourism on the global map alongside similar resorts found in the United States, China, or Thailand. This also helps to mark a spectacular transformation for Vietnamese tourism from budget level into an attractive and unique destination for luxurious travellers.

Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai is a harmonious ode to coast, culture, and community in Vietnam’s UNESCO-strewn centre. Once a fishing village – with a historic temple preserved on site – the resort presents an authentic connection to the region through inspiring on-site activities, from a cooking academy and earth-attuned spa to exhilarating water sports and cultural excursions.

Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai stands for the most beautiful natural landscapes and high-end accommodation:

Highlighting luxury

Located on a pristine 1km-stretch of Ha My Beach – hailed by Forbes as one of the best in the world – the resort is reborn under Four Seasons as a beacon of beauty that reflects the soul of Vietnam’s culture and illuminates the spirit of all who visit: the culturally curious, beach purists, intrepid families, culinary connoisseurs, and wellbeing devotees alike.

The resort offers all 100 accommodations in light-filled villas with expansive space, furnished terraces, and an outdoor shower. Entry-level one-bedroom villas are centred on a raised platform encircled with diaphanous silk with a bed, seating area and sunken bathtub. Pool villas start at more than 2,600 square feet and have a private courtyard entrance, heated pool, separate living space, and butler service.

The Nam Hai’s villa design gleans inspiration from nha vuon, or Central Vietnamese garden homes, with timber frames and pitched roofs covered with flat tiles. The spaces also incorporate elements of Vietnamese feng shui.

Whether floating away on one of the giant pool inflatables amongst tropical vast gardens of Vietnam’s central coast or kicking it up a notch with fun-filled poolside activities and games, villas are the perfect space for hosting family and friends.

Beyond owning the most beautiful natural landscapes and high-end accommodation, the resort is home to one of the most mindful spas in central Vietnam – honoured as one of five best spas in the world in 2019 by the United Kingdom’s Condé Nast Traveller.

The healthy hideaway centres on The Heart of the Earth Spa, which is inspired by the mindful teachings of Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Surrounding a scenic pond, private floating villas provide an ethereal setting to enjoy one of the spa’s thoughtful treatments, such as the Nam Hai Earth Song, an immersive, 150-minute journey filled with breath work, a body scrub, a herbal bath, an aromatic massage, and vibration therapy.

Plus, the new in-villa Interbeing wellness programme encourages mindful moments with balancing essential oils, a soothing selection of meditation tracks, a special pillow menu, and a bathing ritual experience.
