CME’s rooftop solar project turned Hwa Seung factory greener and environmentally friendly

The government has recognised solar power as an important source of renewable energy to ensure sustainable development, deal with power shortages, and meet the economy’s urgent energy needs.

Since then, Copper Mountain Energy (CME) has been one of the pioneering companies making investments in rooftop solar power projects. For instance, the company has invested two solar power plants with the total capacity of 141MW in Long An province’s Renewable Energy Centre. CME is also the first strategic partner of South Korea’s Hwa Seung Group in Vietnam. CME has joined forces to develop two rooftop solar power projects in Hwa Seung Rach Gia factory and the Asia Adidas Research Center which is also managed by Hwa Seung Vina.

With its extensive experience and strong capability in the field, CME has quickly ventured into the rooftop solar power sector. As of present, CME has become the leading player in developing industrial rooftop solar power projects for factories, warehouses, and other industrial buildings. CME has also become a reputable partner for many leading companies that engage in designing, constructing, installing, and supplying state-of-the-art equipment for such power projects.

CME has so far completed dozens of rooftop solar power projects in Vietnam with several more in the pipeline. The company is also expanding its nationwide coverage with projects located in Ho Chi Minh City, Tra Vinh, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Nai, and Kien Giang. In addition, CME has served both local and foreign-invested companies in diverse fields ranging from pharmaceuticals to steel and footwear. The firm also meets the sophisticated demand and requirements of its clients in terms of quality and execution. Such rooftop solar power projects with high requirements are developed for pharmaceutical companies, airports, and research and development centres. Moreover, CME is committed to sustainable development. Its projects not only generate electricity for many clients, but also help reduce 250,000 tonnes of CO2.

In May, CME and its partner Hwaseung Vina have inaugurated and handed over a rooftop solar power project as gift to Tran Quoc Toan Primary School in Rach Gia, Kien Giang. In addition, they granted many scholarships to the primary school’s students at the event.

In the fight against COVID-19, CME has offered dozens of thousands of face masks to Japanese people and Vietnamese community in South Korea to support them during the crisis, cementing the friendship between Vietnam and the world.

According to its development strategy, CME will increasingly tie up with its partners to co-develop projects with the common goal of CO2 reduction. CME’s rooftop solar power projects will not only sell electricity to Electricity of Vietnam, but also provide independent sources of electricity for factories and industrial buildings. These projects will contribute to protect environment with more affordable prices. Factories and other industrial buildings are moving step-by-step towards an advanced model of so-called Net Zero Factories, in which they generate on-site self-supplied electricity from renewable sources.

Bui Trung Kien, general director of CME said, “With a good track record of solar power development in the past two years, we continue to expand our investment, especially in industrial rooftop solar power. We see tremendous potential in Vietnam, contributing to sustainable development of the country while bringing efficiency to factories, industrial buildings, and investors.”
