As AI continues to accelerate the development of robotics, smart devices, and industrial automation, global customers are placing higher demands on technology innovation, delivery efficiency, and supply chain resilience. Building overseas manufacturing capacity has become an increasingly important step for technology companies seeking to strengthen global service capabilities and long-term competitiveness.

To facilitate the goal, Orbbec broke ground on its RVMC factory in Thuan Thanh Industrial Zone, Bac Ninh province on May 18.

The RVMC factory will serve as a key manufacturing hub within Orbbec’s global production network. The facility is planned to cover more than 100,000 square metres, with completion and operations scheduled for 2027.

Once operational, the facility will primarily manufacture 3D vision sensors and smart hardware products for overseas markets, further enhancing Orbbec’s global delivery capabilities and localised manufacturing support.

At the same time, Orbbec’s initial overseas production capacity is also being accelerated and is expected to begin operations in the near term, helping support growing global customer demand and creating a phased manufacturing framework that combines near-term operational capacity with long-term production infrastructure.

Since the end of 2024, Orbbec’s intelligent manufacturing base in China has commenced operations and continued ramping up production capacity. With coordinated production across its China and Vietnam facilities, Orbbec is building a more resilient and scalable global manufacturing system.

Brent Chan, CFO of Orbbec, said, “The groundbreaking of RVMC is a significant step forward in strengthening Orbbec’s global manufacturing and delivery system. Going forward, we will continue to enhance our global production footprint and improve supply chain resilience through a multi-site manufacturing strategy, delivering higher-quality products and solutions to customers and partners worldwide.”
