Carlsberg Vietnam, along with its iconic local brand Huda, is continuing its commitment to sustainability by delivering life-changing clean water solutions to several localities across Vietnam’s central region.

Through its long-standing fresh water initiative, 'Fresh Water for Beloved Central', Carlsberg Vietnam was proud to announce the successful completion of four essential water projects in Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, and Quang Tri in 2024.

These projects marked another inspiring step in the company's ongoing mission to uplift communities and ensure a brighter, more sustainable future for the region.

Now in its sixth year, the initiative reflects Huda and Carlsberg Vietnam’s commitment to going beyond brewing beer by creating meaningful change and improving lives.

Huda has been more than just a beloved beer over the past three decades, it has been a symbol of unity and pride, deeply woven into the culture of central Vietnam.

"We are incredibly proud of the four successful projects we completed last year, as they are a testament to the dedication of our team, the partnerships we've forged with local authorities and community leaders, and the unwavering resilience of the people of central Vietnam. We believe that our success is linked to the wellbeing of the communities we serve," said Andrew Khan, managing director of Carlsberg Vietnam.

"Clean water is not just a necessity, it’s the foundation of healthier lives and brighter futures. We are proud to bring clean water to the heart of central Vietnam and empower local communities to flourish and thrive," he added.

Water scarcity, particularly in rural areas, poses a significant threat to health, economic development, and overall quality of life. Carlsberg Vietnam recognised this challenge and stepped forward to become a catalyst for change.

In close collaboration with local partners, the company conducted comprehensive surveys on the current state of water supply systems across four localities to craft targeted investment plans.

Tailoring to each project's specific needs, the company undertook initiatives such as upgrading and repairing water filtration systems at local water stations.

Last year’s achievements were built upon a legacy of success, as the scheme has now delivered clean water to about 9,000 households across five localities – that’s nearly 35,000 people who now have a reliable source of water, bringing peace of mind, especially during the challenges of summer and rainy seasons.

The impacts of these accomplishments extend far beyond simply providing access to clean water. Carlsberg Vietnam is also directly contributing to improvements in public health by reducing the incidence of waterborne diseases, leading to healthier families and stronger communities.

Moreover, the initiative boosts economic development by enabling communities to thrive through its support of agriculture, small businesses, and overall regional growth, laying the foundation for a more prosperous future.

Additionally, by constructing durable and reliable water infrastructure, Carlsberg Vietnam is helping to minimise future maintenance needs and reduce the potential for water waste, contributing to a more sustainable approach to water management in these communities.
