Under the MoU, Central Retail Vietnam and TSS will collaborate to implement net-zero solutions in Central Retail's Mini Go! mall network, aiming to reduce energy consumption and increase the use of renewable energy sources.

Tona Syntegra Solar will provide and install rooftop solar power systems, solar carports, energy storage systems (as needed), energy efficiency solutions, and electric forklifts and trucks to support Central Retail Vietnam's net zero goals.

The partnership between Central Retail Vietnam and Tona Syntegra Solar has already yielded tangible results. The rooftop solar power system at the Go! Nhon Trach supermarket, a member of Central Retail Vietnam, is now fully operational.

This reduces CO2 emissions by 373 tonnes per year, equivalent to the environmental impact of planting nearly 5,595 trees. This achievement is a significant step towards Central Retail Vietnam's goal of a more sustainable future.

According to Olivier Langlet, group CEO of Central Retail Vietnam, the group is dedicated to pioneering sustainable development and becoming a green and sustainable retailer.

"Our collaboration with TSS will accelerate our net-zero ambitions. Together, we will develop and implement innovative energy solutions that improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. This partnership lays the groundwork for future projects, including the installation of EV charging stations and electric trucks for our logistics operations, contributing to a greener supply chain across our business."

According to Nguyen Anh Phuong, CEO of Tona Syntegra Solar, the company is fully aware that, in the context of increasing climate change, transitioning to renewable energy sources is not just an option but an urgent responsibility.

“With strong commitments from both parties, Tona Syntegra Solar will develop and invest in rooftop solar power systems, Solar Carport systems, energy storage systems (BESS), along with efficient energy and green logistic solutions, including electric forklifts and electric trucks for the shopping centres of Central Retail Vietnam,” Phuong said at the event.

“These solutions will help reduce carbon emissions and optimise operational costs, providing long-term benefits for both parties. We believe that this cooperation is not only an important step in realising Central Retail Vietnam Group's net-zero vision, but also a testament to our commitment to accompany CRV in building a sustainable future for the next generations,” she added.

Looking ahead, Central Retail Vietnam plans to expand this initiative by installing solar panels across its entire network of Mini Go! malls.
