The seminar attracted more than 150 delegates representing IPs, factories, and manufacturing enterprises.
According to Tran Thien Long, standing vice chairman of the Vietnam Industrial Real Estate Association, IPs and businesses must build and operate to sustainable development requirements as soon as possible.
“When IPs carry out green transformation they will attract many interested investors, and at the same time, factories in IPs also have to carry out green transformation, to harmonise with the whole of society,” Long said.
This helps businesses transferring to produce green products, increasing the export value of goods for businesses, Long added.
“Therefore, businesses must act quickly, and not just stop at thinking. If businesses do not implement green production and green products, it will be difficult to export goods in the future, especially to demanding markets,” Long said.
Referring to the difficulties of businesses in green transformation, Tran Anh Dong, director of CAS-Energy, emphasised the important role of eco-IPs for Vietnam to participate and compete effectively when the rules of the game are increasingly tightened.
“Green transformation puts manufacturing enterprises in a difficult position in many aspects: finance, resources, and support policies, especially during the initial and operation phase,” Dong said.
At the conference, experts also focused on discussing solutions to overcome difficulties for factories and IPs when innovating and green transformation. At the same time, they shared experiences for businesses to effectively implement such a transformation.
To support businesses in implementing this and aiming for sustainable development, the Ho Chi Minh City TIPC has been organising training and coaching sessions for businesses to build strategies and gradually implement green transformation.
