Bayer Vietnam and the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynaecology inked a strategic cooperation agreement to take care of Vietnamese women’s health |
In attempts to bring innovative medicines to improve the health of Vietnamese people, last month Bayer Vietnam launched a new line of dietary supplements including Redoxon chewable vitamin C for children and adults to support immunity and wellbeing of the whole family.
Founded on the belief that healthy habits start from childhood, the launch campaign aims to educate parents on the benefits of proper nutrition and highlight their important role in helping kids to build strong immune systems through establishing a healthy lifestyle in the early life course.
Bayer Vietnam has also been actively teaming up with relevant stakeholders to advance care for Vietnamese women.
Also in June, the company entered into a new strategic partnership with the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynaecology through an MoU.
The tie-up is aimed at improving knowledge and clinical experiences for obstetrics and gynaecological healthcare professionals, enhancing public awareness of gynaecological health issues and empowering women to take control of their health and wellbeing. This MoU will span three years to allow time for major initiatives to be launched and show results.
Likewise, in May, Bayer Vietnam and Hung Vuong Hospital also signed a MoU on strategic partnership to jointly develop and implement a wide range of programmes aimed at ensuring better access to quality obstetrics and gynaecological care for women through all phases of life, from pre-teen years to post-menopausal years.
Two months previously, Bayer Vietnam in collaboration with Can Tho City Obstetrics and Gynaecology Hospital organised a scientific seminar on clinical practice in using progestin to treat menorrhagia and endometriosis.
Ingo Brandenburg, general director of Bayer Vietnam, said, “We have the fundamental belief that empowering women and providing them with access to quality healthcare are central for sustainable development. We greatly appreciate the partnership with the hospitals and trust that this will enable both of us to extend our reach and impact in transforming women’s health for a better and healthier world.”

A healthier world
This year, Bayer Vietnam has been making further efforts to promote public healthcare to the wider Vietnamese population. In March, it signed a new agreement with retail pharmacy chains Pharmacity and Long Chau to help increase the latter’s capacity to consult on a range of solutions for the treatment and prevention of disease.
Within the framework of the agreement, Bayer, Pharmacity, and Long Chau will cooperate in providing training for their teams of pharmacists on efficient approach and consultation skills to improve patient outcomes and advance consumers’ everyday health.
In addition, all parties will jointly implement various community-based education programmes on disease awareness and treatment, as well as promote self-care practices through both digital and in-store platforms across Pharmacity and Long Chau’s nationwide branch networks.
“With the joint efforts from Vietnam’s renowned pharmacy retail chains, we can extend our reach and impact in advancing personal and patient health, reinforcing our corporate strategy of patient-and-consumer-centricity,” Brandenburg stated.
Working to realise its ambitious vision of “health for all, hunger for none”, Brandenburg said the companies will continue to seek partnering opportunities and value collaboration with likeminded partners who share the same goals in enhancing quality and widening access to healthcare for everyone.
“These meaningful strategic partnerships will enable us to extend our reach and impact in ensuring the proper use of and better access to helpful education, innovative medicines and effective health solutions of local community, especially Vietnamese women. This also reinforces Bayer’s strategy of patient-and-consumer-centricity,” Brandenburg added.

At its annual Pharma Media Day in March in Germany, Bayer unveiled a new research and development (R&D) strategy and operating model sharpening innovation focus and strengthening early development in oncology, cardiovascular, neurology, rare diseases, and immunology.
As noted at the event, the company has doubled its portfolio of oncology treatments over the past five years, with nearly one-third of new molecular entities within Bayer’s development pipeline dedicated to fighting cancer, spanning all phases of clinical development.
Bayer is also advancing its oncology R&D efforts in three scientific areas that have the potential to address unmet needs in cancer patients: targeted radiopharmaceuticals, next-generation immuno-oncology, and precision molecular oncology approaches
Meanwhile, complementing in-house expertise with external collaborations remains a vital part of Bayer’s strategy to expand its R&D expertise around the world. Through Asklepios BioPharmaceutical Inc. (AskBio), Bayer is developing a gene therapy as a potential new approach for treating congestive heart failure.
AskBio is also currently advancing a number of preclinical candidates that could address medical needs across a diverse set of devastating diseases such as Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, and Pompe disease.
