The popularity of wellness tourism is rising in Vietnam. According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, the number of international visitors coming to the country for health and wellness purposes increased by an average of 12 per cent annually from 2017 to 2024. Wellness tourism in the country has recorded an average annual growth rate of 12-15 per cent.

One such popular destination for wellness include the properties of Fusion Hotels & Resorts. Activities such as yoga and meditation inspire all their offerings, from Nui Coc Lake Wellness Resort in the northern province of Thai Nguyen, to Alba Wellness Valley on the outskirts Hue. The company’s newest wellness resort, Fusion Resort & Villas in Danang, opened in the summer.

In 2023, Alba Wellness Valley was voted as the world’s top hotel for nature lovers, sustainability, and families, and took the No.2 spot internationally for spa and wellness hotel, according to the UK-based Luxury Lifestyle Magazine Readers’ Travel Awards.

According to Jamie Jung Hun Lee, general manager of The Westin Cam Ranh, a destination with an intensive wellness model, health tourists do not only adhere to exercise and sports habits.

“They also focus on nutrition, sleep quality, and training programmes for themselves and the whole family in a fresh, natural environment,” Lee said. “One of the pillars of the brand’s healthy living philosophy is Move Well. Wellness is not just a habit, but also a truly balanced and positive lifestyle that modern domestic and international youth strive for.”

For this reason, the resort’s Eat Well menu is researched by nutritionists based on scientific indicators, with a commitment to only using organic, locally sourced meat, seafood, and vegetables. The children’s menu is also appreciated by parents, and does not include carbonated drinks.

The Westin Cam Ranh, on the south-central coast of the country, has also become a choice for families after a road trip, or businesses organising meetings, Lee added, with professional physical activities that focus on multisensory experiences or inspiring creativity.

Meanwhile, regenerating energy with nature but still ensuring comfort like in their own home, the satisfaction and joy of the homeowner is everything that Gia Tho Village offers.

Funded by TC Real, Gia Tho Village is just over an hour’s drive from Dalat city centre. Director Ngo Ngoc Toan said that the village, possessing a unique geographical location with a view overlooking the entire town of Tan Ha, offers visitors the opportunity to touch the clouds. “It is no exaggeration to say that Gia Tho is in a rare golden position amid unique mountains and forests,” said Toan.

Elsewhere, in the north, Wyndham Lynn Times Thanh Thuy in Phu Tho province is a living, resort, and investment destination that many families are interested in. The complex offers a choice of apartments, hot mineral villas, onsen pool, and convalescent apartments. According to the developer, this property can be both a second home and an investment channel that generates effective cash flow through rental operations.

Limited domestic supply of green materials and insufficient awareness of green real estate remain the most enduring challenges preventing Vietnam from participating more deeply in the global green real estate market.
