Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh has agreed to the organisation of a conference to implement the programmes for the 2021-2025 period.
The deputy prime minister asked the Ministry of Planning and Investment to preside over the event and work with relevant ministries, agencies, and localities to make preparations and ensure the success of the proceedings.
Vietnam will spend $3.3 billion on the 2021-2025 poverty reduction programme that has been approved by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
The national programme proposed by the social affairs ministry will focus on reducing current poverty levels, preventing further people from falling into poverty, and helping deprived citizens to gain better access to social services. $2.1 billion of the plan’s outlay will be drawn from the national budget, $550 million from local budgets, and the remainder from other sources.
