According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the number of Australian visitors to Vietnam in the first quarter of the year grew by 54 per cent compared to the same period in 2019.

Data from Vietnam’s General Statistics Office also listed Australia among the top 10 source markets in the first half of the year, with 276,000 arrivals, ranking eighth overall.
InsideAsia Tours, a travel company headquartered in Australia, reported a 46 per cent increase in direct bookings to Vietnam during the first six months of 2025 compared to the same period last year.
Nicole Newport, Oceania Sales Director at InsideAsia Tours, highlighted that demand for travel to Vietnam has remained strong since the beginning of the year.
She noted that Vietnam offers, "a sense of discovering several countries in one," thanks to its geographical proximity and diverse offerings, from historic cities and bustling markets to dramatic natural landscapes.
"More Australian travellers are seeking culturally meaningful journeys that go beyond traditional tourist hotspots," Newport added.
Travel booking platform Klook also recorded a 250 per cent increase in hotel bookings by Australian tourists in Vietnam between March and June, along with a 170 per cent rise in tours and experiences during the same period.
According to the latest Travel Trends Report by the Australian Tourism Industry Association, Vietnam recorded the highest growth in Australian visitor numbers in April, up 28.5 per cent, followed by Japan (17 per cent) and China (12.7 per cent).
