For the past 12 years, FedEx, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has been working with Junior Achievement Vietnam (JA Vietnam) to foster the growth and development of Vietnamese youth. Through the ITC programme, FedEx and JA Vietnam provide students with team activities and tailor-made workshops focused on global trade, paving the way for their future success as leaders of commerce.

The upcoming regional finals will return to an in-person event for the first time since the pandemic. Taking place in Singapore in August, the Vietnamese winners will compete with students from Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, S Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. Vietnamese students will have a unique opportunity for collaborative brainstorming, exchanging ideas and insights, and engaging in constructive discussions with peers hailing from a rich tapestry of cultures from across the region.

This year, the students were challenged to develop a market entry strategy targeting Australia for a product centred around water conservation. This project is timely and relevant as extreme heat has impacted Australian ecosystems and infrastructure.

“This year marks a significant milestone for FedEx as we commemorate our thirtieth anniversary in Vietnam,” said Ee-Hui Tan, managing director of FedEx Vietnam and Cambodia. “This programme embodies our purpose over the last three decades of serving local businesses and communities – and that is to connect people and possibilities. By providing students with valuable entrepreneurship experience, we are cultivating Vietnam’s next generation of leaders and equipping them with the knowledge and skills to further drive Vietnam’s economic success.”

Since 2012, more than 3,900 Vietnamese students have participated in the FedEx/JA ITC competition, with 78 of them representing Vietnam at the FedEx/JA ITC Regional Finals. In 2023, a student from Vietnam was a member of the winning team at the FedEx/JA ITC Regional Finals.
