Night-time economy activities and services will be able to stay open throughout the night at pilot cities

Specifically, the pilot will be carried out in some cities and provinces which are home to well-known tourist spots such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, the northern province of Quang Ninh, the central cities of Danang and Hoi An, the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, and the southern cities of Can Tho, Dalat, and Phu Quoc.

After the pilot in these areas, the local governments will build a suitable night-time economy model to replicate in other cities and provinces.

The pilot will include three groups of solutions, including raising awareness of night-time economy-related benefits and risks, completing policies and the legal framework to mitigate risks, improving the image of the night-time economy.

During the pilot scheme, the prime minister also required provincial and city people’s committees to research and develop appropriate policies facilitating the development of the night-time economy to align with the actual conditions of each area and their specific investment attraction capacity.

The government's policy to develop the night-time economy is aimed to maximise economic growth potential, raise people’s income, as well as restrict the hazards and negative impacts on political and social stability.
