In the unpredictable pandemic spread across the country, especially in Ho Chi Minh City, Ovaltine has promptly launched the Sharing the Power of Love programme through The Sharing Nutrition Cabinets, bringing over 240,000 glasses of milk to people in quarantine areas around Ho Chi Minh City.

Since the end of April, Ho Chi Minh City has entered the peak of COVID-19 pandemic with the number of infected cases increasing day by day, the number of centralised quarantined areas have also increased, and many residential areas have been forced to lock down.

This situation is causing countless difficulties and inconveniences for the community. In the quarantine areas, many people have lost their jobs, especially low-income households such as blue-collar workers, workers at industrial zones, or university students. Besides, the frontline workforce such as volunteers and medical staff in these areas are also working under great pressure. Hence, their meals are usually taken in a hurry and lack proper nutrition.

Ovaltine – a famous Switzerland-based nutritional malt extract beverage firm – has coordinated with the People's Committee of An Lac ward, Binh Tan district and the Women's Union of Binh Thanh district to deploy the Sharing the Power of Love programme by creating Nutrition Cabinets for sharing, with the goal of supplying more nutrients in daily meals to help frontline forces and people have more energy to overcome challenges.

Each and every product donated by Ovaltine through the Sharing the Power of Love programme provides essential daily nutrients, which are not only good for children but also for families and individuals of all ages.

Ovaltine created the Nutrition Cabinets to provide 240,000 glasses of milk and nutrient-rich malted chocolate completely free to different areas in Binh Thanh and Binh Tan districts that are currently locked down with more than 17,000 households.

“Following our mission to bring essential nutrients and spreading the spirit of sharing to the Vietnamese people, Ovaltine wishes that through this activity, we can together empower and energise the community in the whole country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular,” said Nguyen Quang Uy, country manager of Ovaltine Vietnam. “We strongly believe that following the Sharing the Power of Love programme with Nutrition Cabinets, there will be many sharing activities that will be replicated and spread the spirit of solidarity. These meaningful contributions will become the motivation for us to overcome our current challenges and return to normal life.”
