Vehicle owners can now register their vehicles and pay on the National Public Service Portal |
Accordingly, people do not need to go to treasuries or banks to pay registration fees as they did in the past. Instead, they can make payments via the National Public Service Portal, internet banking, and intermediate agencies.
Vehicle owners can now declare and submit the registration fee with Document 02/LPTB, following the government’s Decree No.20/2019 dated February 21, 2019 in two ways. First, they can directly submit documents at tax agencies where they register the right to use automobiles and motorbikes. They should submit their mobile phone as well. Then they are informed of the registration fee, document code, and message from the General Department of Taxation.
Second, payers can do the registration online via the National Public Service Portal at http://dichvucong.gov.vn, or via the portal of the Department at https://thuedientu.gdt.gov.vn.
At present, the second option is applied on a trial basis at Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Vehicles eligible for the service are automobiles and motorbikes registering for the first time, excluding trucks and passenger cars of 10 seats and more, and similar vehicles.
Other cities and provinces will follow in the coming time in line with directions from the General Department of Taxation.
To do the online declaration and pay registration fees, payers should meet one of the following two requirements: have an account on the National Public Service Portal, and this account should be connected with a bank account, or to an internet banking account at Vietcombank, Vietinbank, Agribank, VPBank, MBBank, TPBank, or BIDV.
