Novaland Corporation has donated VND15 billion ($652,170) to aid flood victims in Central Vietnam. In addition, the corporation has donated VND6 billion ($260,870) to the Fund For the Poor by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front as well as the fund for the poor in Ho Chi Minh City with a view to contribute to the National Targeted Programme for Sustainable Poverty Reduction.

Where there are difficulties, there is sharing

In the context of the economic difficulties caused by COVID-19 and floods in the central region, many households have faced several challenges. Socioeconomic infrastructure in the provinces have been severely damaged.

"If we come together, we will have more strength". Many resources need to be mobilised to support the poor and vulnerable people affected by the disaster. Thus, any local and foreign corporations have actively made donations to support the flood-hit areas, including Novaland. The corporation hopes to spread the value of love and provide timely support for residents to settle down after the typhoons.

Novaland Corporation have donated present packages and cash worth VND15 billion ($652,170) to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Tri, and Quang Binh to help the flood-hit provinces quickly overcome challenges. The entire budget will be allocated for emergency assistance and flood recovery like giving gifts of necessities to families whose travel is restricted due to flooding, donating cash to support families in need with loss of life and property. This activity to support the community is more meaningful thanks to the contribution of Novaland Corporation’s employees and partners, which has been the corporation’s tradition since the early days of development.

Over the past few years, Novaland has actively implemented several corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities with donations for the community reaching VND400 billion ($17.4 million). The corporation focuses on CSR programmes that bring long-term benefits for national development. The corporation has also donated dozens of billions of Vietnamese dong to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Thuan, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau, among others to implement the social security programmes, thereby improving the living standards of local residents and developing the community.

As an annual event for many years, Novaland has donated VND5 billion ($217,400) to the Fund “For the Poor” by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front as well as VND1 billion ($43,480) to the fund for the poor in Ho Chi Minh City with a view to support the poor overcome challenges in their lives. The Fund for the Poor has long been a meeting place for compassionate hearts, individuals, units, and businesses to contribute to the poor.

Tran Thanh Man, chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee said, “We would like to express our sincere thanks to the organisations, individuals, businesses, and donors. They have actively participated in many charity activities, providing timely and effective support. We hope our fellow nationals in Vietnam and overseas countries will continue promoting the tradition of solidarity and the spirit of altruism and charity, especially in times of a crisis or disaster to minimise the losses caused by natural disasters.”
