Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also gave presentations on regional and global situations, and their impacts on Vietnam, as well as the foreign policy and direction of the 13th Party Congress, and spoke about building the ASEAN Community and its role and position in the global landscape.

The 13th Party Congress stated that consistent implementation of an independent and self-reliant foreign policy for peace, friendship, cooperation, and development would support international cooperation, while ensuring national interests.

Trinh Minh Manh, deputy director of the ASEAN Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), commented that in the context of the complicated world situation, ASEAN had strengthened its central role towards a region of peace, stability, openness, and prosperity.

Since joining ASEAN in 1995, Vietnam has played a proactive and positive role, contributing to the stable development of the bloc.

Since Vietnam's initiative to establish an Anti-Fake News Task Force in 2023, management agencies, major media agencies, and specialised associations of 10 ASEAN countries have been coordinating more closely to handle and prevent fake news in cyberspace.

At the workshop, representatives of the National Committee for UNESCO spoke about conserving the Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve to ensure environmental protection and sustainable development.

At the end of the workshop, Long said that the MIC will continue to coordinate with the MoFA and relevant agencies to provide information for the press, helping reporters and editors produce better news stories with more in-depth analysis about foreign affairs and international integration.
