HMUH launched its high-tech Breast Imaging Centre on December 14, marking a significant milestone in enhancing the screening and treatment capacity for breast cancer in Vietnam.

The event also celebrated the unveiling of the first installation of the MAMMOMAT Revelation mammography system in Vietnam.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by leading experts, including Nguyen Thanh Binh, vice director of HMUH; Le Tuan Linh, director of HMUH Centre for Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology; specialist II Le Hong Cuc, president of the Vietnam Breast Imaging Sub-Association; Theresa S. Buenaflor, Health Cube Clinic, Philippines; along with Fabrice Leguet, managing director of Siemens Healthineers ASEAN, and Tran Thanh Ngan, head of sales at Siemens Healthineers Vietnam.

The event also welcomed representatives from local and international media, highlighting the significant interest in innovative solutions for breast healthcare.

At the ceremony, Le Tuan Linh remarked that breast-related diseases have not received sufficient attention in the medical field, either from the medical community or the public. There are still localities without a mammography machine, and they rely solely on ultrasound combined with clinical examination.

“The establishment of this Advanced Breast Imaging Centre therefore marks a breakthrough in diagnostic processes, helping raise awareness and encouraging women to take better care of their breast health. I hope that this model will be replicated across healthcare facilities to help doctors, patients, and the community better understand the importance of early detection and treatment of breast-related diseases,” said Linh.

Following this, Fabrice Leguet from Siemens Healthineers ASEAN noted,“We are immensely proud to partner with HMUH to bring the most advanced technological solutions closer to doctors and patients. Today’s event reaffirms Siemens Healthineers’ unwavering commitment to pioneering breakthroughs in healthcare, for everyone, everywhere, sustainably.”

The MAMMOMAT Revelation 3D mammography system is a state-of-the-art product in Siemens Healthineers’ breast care portfolio.

Equipped with wide-angle 3D Tomosynthesis at 50 degrees, the system delivers exceptional image clarity, enabling the detection of even the smallest lesions that are often missed using traditional methods. A standout feature is Titanium Contrast-Enhanced Mammography, a new technology in Vietnam that significantly improves the accuracy of differentiating between benign and malignant breast lesions.

As part of the event, a scientific workshop titled ‘Advances in Breast Imaging’ was held, attracting significant attention from leading experts.

The workshop featured presentations that provided attendees with the latest insights into the value of 3D mammography, contrast-enhanced mammography for cancer diagnosis and screening, mammography-guided biopsy, and the application of AI in breast imaging.

The occasion also featured hands-on sessions for interpreting 3D mammograms, contrast-enhanced mammograms, and mammography-guided biopsy.
