The industrial and logistics sector is now one of the most interesting aspects of Vietnam's economy, thanks to the number of international manufacturers expanding their businesses here, according to Truong An Duong, general manager of North Vietnam and Residential at Frasers Property Vietnam.

Frasers Property Vietnam has expanded into industrial and logistics infrastructure from its usual area of residential and commercial property, and has secured initial achievements,” Duong said.

Frasers Property Group has an extensive global track record in the industrial and logistics space. With profound local knowledge, its Vietnam setup has continued to leverage the wider group’s network in the industrial segment and achieve synergistic collaborations to grow its industrial portfolio.

Some of its recent highlights include Binh Duong Industrial Park near Ho Chi Minh City, its first industrial showcase in Vietnam, where the company has completed the first phase of ready-built factories and begun further construction to cater to the growing market demand there.

In addition, its LEED-certified Eco Logistics Centre sits on more than 7.5 hectares and provides warehousing for sustainability-minded tenants.

“We continue to see strong market conditions contributing to the overall growth of the industrial and logistics sector in northern Vietnam, and have expanded our presence to Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, and Quang Ninh provinces to seize new opportunities” Duong said.

Frasers Property Vietnam broke ground on its first industrial and logistics property in the North in the Industrial Centre Yen Phong 2C in Bac Ninh in September. This is the maiden project stemming from the company's partnership with Gelex Group that was announced earlier this year.

“We take a long-term view in evaluating opportunities, with industry and logistics as an important focus area for us as the country moves up the supply chain. We and our strategic partners will develop approximately 1 million square metres of international-grade facilities in prime locations across Vietnam over the next 2-3 years, and we plan to expand our portfolio with approximately 680,000sq.m of industrial facilities with dedicated social and wellness amenities for occupiers,” added Duong.

The company prioritises projects in strategic locations that are close to the hubs of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, with the ability to connect directly to major provinces, airports, seaports, and other transportation infrastructure.

“We are eager to collaborate with like-minded partners over the long term, those with valuable resources and the experience to develop significant projects with us,” he continued.

Frasers Property Ltd., together with its subsidiaries, forms the Frasers Property Group – a multinational investor-developer-manager of real estate products and services across the property value chain.

Listed on the Main Board of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Ltd. and headquartered in Singapore, the group has total assets of approximately S$39.8 billion (around $29.6 billion) as of September 30.

Frasers Property's multinational businesses operate across five asset classes, namely commercial and business parks, hospitality, industrial and logistics, residential, and retail.

It has businesses in Southeast Asia, Australia, the EU, the United Kingdom and China, and its well-established hospitality firm owns and operates serviced apartments and hotels in over 20 countries and more than 70 cities across Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

In Vietnam, Frasers Property has a well-diversified portfolio including commercial signature developments with Melinh Point, a Grade A boutique office building in Ho Chi Minh City’s commercial District 1, and Worc@Q2, a modern-styled serviced-office within its Residential segment called Q2 Thao Dien – a luxury mixed-use development in Thu Duc city.

Almost a million square metres of international grade and green certified industrial facilities within strategic locations in both North and South of Vietnam, will be developed to support the country’s growing manufacturing economy.

Frasers Hospitality also maintains a country presence with Fraser Suites Hanoi and Fraser Residence Hanoi.
