Fourteenth Swing for the Kids openning |
Today (November 21, 2020), the annual charity golf tournament Swing for the Kids is taking place to raise funds to support poor but excellent students. The 14th annual event has been delayed for months because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to postpone but could not stop us from continuing our task. We believe that our support will help reduce students' difficulties and challenges and push them to higher results, especially teachers and students who have just suffered the strongest floods and storms ever across the central region in the past weeks," Le Trong Minh, head of the Organising Board and VIR's editor-in-chief said.
Padungsak Thanakij, a representative of Banpu Plc. said that supporting education has been on Banpu’s sustainable development agenda since its establishment. "Children are our future. Supporting the education sector is always in the sustainable development plans of Banpu. This was Banpu's first year in Vietnam and we were lucky enough to find Swing for the Kinds as a strategic partner for implementing CSR projects here, he said.
"We know we have responsibilities as a corporation and Exness is honoured to be taking part in Swing for the Kids and contributing to fulfilling the dreams of disadvantaged children in Vietnam. This is a noble gesture, a social activity that should be maintained and spread," Thai Viet Dung, a representative of Exness, one of the tournament's sponsors said.
Nguyen Bich Viet, representative of tournament sponsor soft drink brand V-Green said: "This is the first time I have ever joined a special event like this. We see the enthusiasm of the players and are so proud to participate."
