The representatives of Vietnam's most sustainable enterprises |
In 2019, the CSI continues to be used as a scale to assess the sustainability of businesses. The CSI 2019 indicator is derived from 98-131 indicators in three areas including society, economy, and environment. The indicators were also upgraded and restructured into more scientifically grounded groups to better align with international practices and domestic law, and to be more practical and applicable on a wider scope.
By following CSI reporting standards, businesses can provide systemic and transparent information on corporate governance, including operating processes as well as methods of management, production, performance, and regulations. Therefore, through CSI, businesses can improve and promote a sustainable development strategy. Thanh said, "Many businesses claimed that they are eager for sustainable development but do not know how to start. The CSI is the answer."
Also at the event, VBCSD representatives praised nine excellent press works from 100 entries on corporate sustainable development. Nguyen Quang Vinh, vice chairman of VBCSD, said, “Via this programme, VCCI wishes to encourage the media agencies to utilise their great strength to increase coverage of the value and benefits of sustainable development within society and the business community."
After the National Conference on Sustainable Development in 2019, the prime minister lauded the achievements and positive impacts of the CSI and directed the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) to extend its scope to more enterprises.
