In mid-January, the "Online - Integrated - Multi-method" electronic ticket system was implemented by the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum. This collaborative project between the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum and the Tourism Information Centre aims to improve service quality, offering benefits to visitors and facilitating guides and travel businesses.

"The electronic ticket system is a novel solution, effectively supporting tourist spots, museums, and relics, creating convenience for tourists, travel enterprises, and destination management," said Nguyen Anh Minh, director of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum.
Furthermore, this effort represents the museum's commitment to digital transformation.
"Digitalisation brings positive benefits in all aspects of societal life. For cultural heritage, digital technology significantly contributes towards the preservation and promotion of heritage values," Minh added.
In late 2023, the museum introduced the online art exhibition space "VAES" on a digital platform, being instrumental in the promotion of fine arts works to a diverse audience both domestically and internationally.
In May 2022, the electronic ticket system marked a breakthrough at the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam relic site, revolutionising the management model and enhancing the visitor experience.
For large groups, the electronic ticket system allows the entire group’s entry via a QR code, instead of purchasing individual tickets as in traditional methods.
Le Xuan Kieu, director of the Cultural and Scientific Activities Centre of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, highlighted that the innovation in visitor management through the digital transformation from traditional tickets to electronic tickets helps the Management Board improve management practices in a scientific and transparent direction.
Similarly, historical sites such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Quan Thanh Temple, and the central area of Thang Long Citadel are also putting the electronic ticket system in progress.
Vietnam’s diverse attractions must be promoted We were very grateful for the government’s support for the tourism industry in 2023. This has boosted the number of international tourists to Vietnam, especially from Europe. Our hotel in Cam Ranh had its best year in company history last year, with high occupancy rates and positive feedback from our guests. |
Addressing the popularity of problematic tourist attractions A fortnight ago, Hanoi’s famous train street made the news again after it was closed down for tourists. Despite the popularity for people to visit and take photographs, authorities have shut the area in the name of safety. Etienne Mahler talked with Julia Heuser, a German exchange student currently living in Hanoi, about her thoughts on the topic. |
