Earth Hour, organised by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), is a global grassroots movement uniting people to take action on climate change and protect the planet.

This Saturday (March 27), Grand Mercure Danang will hold a series of meaningful activities to commemorate the Earth Hour event:

* Candle lighting ceremony 60+ at Nirvana Bar: Each candle lit during the 60+ candle light event will be sold for VND10,000 (45 US cents), with a tree to be donated to Planet 21 programme after each purchase.

* Earth Hour cocktail with Happy Hour promotion: Buy 1 Get 1 only from 20:30 to 21:30, serving cocktails and mocktails prepared without electricity

* Drawing contest on glass jars by glow paint with the theme of Earth Hour and natural environment for children under 12 with attractive prizes such as breakfast buffet voucher at Grand Mercure Danang, .... Registration fee: VND50,000 (2.20 US cents)per child

All proceeds will be donated to Accor's Planet 21 sustainable development programme.

The Earth Hour event will be a meaningful activity for the whole family to get involved in, and perfect for helping kids develop their love for nature.

Especially, guests enjoying the all-you-can-eat Dim Sum at Golden Dragon restaurant (every Saturday, from 17:30 - 21:30) will be invited to attend the MOANA movie night, each guest will receive a free candle during the candle lighting ceremony, and will be free to attend the drawing contest for children (one child per adult) when booking before March 27, 2021.

MOANA movie night will be held from 18:30 to 20:30 at Golden Dragon restaurant with the story of Moana – a sea-voyaging enthusiast and the only daughter of a chief in a long line of navigators. When her island’s fishermen cannot catch any fish and the crops fail, she learns that the demigod Maui caused the blight by stealing the heart of the goddess, Te Fiti. The only way to heal the island is to persuade Maui to return Te Fiti’s heart, so Moana sets off on an epic journey across the Pacific.
