Danang International Fireworks Festival 2025 to be largest of its kind

The festival be taking place from May 31 to July 12 under the theme ‘Danang - The New Rising Era’.

DIFF 2025 will be the longest and largest fireworks season in the history the event, with six fireworks nights and the participation of 10 teams from Vietnam, Finland, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Poland, Korea, Italy, Canada, and China.

Speaking at the press conference, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of Danang People's Committee, said that not only acting as a ‘magnet’ enticing domestic and international visitors to Danang every summer, since 2008, DIFF has affirmed its position as an upscale event of international significance.

“After 12 times, the event has become a world-class international fireworks festival and the city currently welcomes nearly 10.9 million visitors, with tourism revenue surging to over $1.58 billion. The return of DIFF in 2023 and 2024 after more than three years of interruptions due to the impacts of COVID-19 has brought a boost to Danang's tourism sector and achieved extremely impressive growth,” Thi said.

With the largest number of competition nights and teams ever, the festival promises to provide the ultimate and emotional experiences for the audience thanks to breakthrough technological innovations combined with impressive art, music and sports performances.

“"Following the success of DIFF 2024, with many innovations and breakthroughs, Danang International Fireworks Festival 2025 promises to open a new era of Danang fireworks, marking a period of even stronger development for Danang in the new era. Danang People's Committee will continue to study and invest in further bolstering DIFF, making Danang worthy of the Asia's Leading Festival and Event Destination title,” said Thi.

In addition to preparing items for DIFF 2025, the organising committee is also urgently planning a series of accompanying events, new and unique tourism products to elevate the experience for visitors, while contributing to improving the competitiveness of Danang's tourism industry.

Huynh Nam Thang, general director of Sun Group Central Region, the organiser of DIFF 2025, said that it is time for Danang to have a large-scale, methodical investment strategy and specific, drastic actions to elevate the position of this festival and the brand ‘fireworks city’. This is especially in the context many domestic destinations are making positive moves with firework investments, typically Phu Quoc that has turned itself into a destination with fireworks 365 days a year.

“With the position of a city that boasts a distinct international fireworks festival like DIFF, Danang needs an ecosystem for fireworks that is worthy and classy. If invested in a high-quality infrastructure system, typically a square or stage, a large-scale fireworks stand, DIFF will certainly be elevated to a new level, and at the same time contribute to making Danang a destination for festivals and events throughout the four seasons,” said Thang.
