Hanoi Department of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Veterinary Medicine inspected a factory belonging to C.P. Vietnam Corporation in Phu Nghia Industrial Park, Hanoi, on June 3.

The inspection was part of a decision issued on May 30 to ensure that animal slaughterhouses in Hanoi strictly comply with regulations on veterinary hygiene and food safety.

During the inspection, the working group reviewed legal documents, material conditions, and operating procedures directly related to slaughtering activities. The results stated that C.P. Vietnam's factory branch No.3 has fully implemented the necessary legal procedures, including a certificate of registration of branch operations, a certificate of food safety management valid until 2027 a waste treatment contract, an investment certificate, and pig purchase contracts, along with import-export documents and weighing slips.

On the same day, the factory received 252 pigs from five transport vehicles. The inspection found that the pigs were in good health, the waiting area was airy, clean, had a cooling system, and met standards (0.8 square metre/pig).

The factory uses an automatic slaughter line with a maximum capacity of 2,000 pigs per day. The process ensures veterinary and food hygiene standards. Slaughtering activities are directly supervised by quarantine officers.

At the end of the working session, the inspection team requested the company to continue to strictly implement legal regulations on slaughter control, especially checking the origin of input pigs, as well as helping quarantine forces to do their duties at the factory.
