This is the next wide-body aircraft in the series of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners that will join Bamboo Airways’ fleet in the near future.

“The new aircraft is named after Sam Son Beach – one of the famous tourist destinations and the pride of the people of Thanh Hoa and Vietnam, whose appearance has been completely changed with the great project – FLC Samson Beach & Golf Resort,” said deputy general director of Bamboo Airways, Nguyen Ngoc Trong.

After arriving to Vietnam, "Sam Son Beach" will be operated on the Ho Chi Minh City-Thanh Hoa route. The flight landed at 9:55 am on January 18 as the very first wide-body aircraft landing at Tho Xuan Airport.

787-9 Dreamliner is one of the most fuel-efficient and safest aircraft models in the world, with a high level of durability. It can reduce noise and emissions which cause detrimental impacts on the environment.

The cabin of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is designed to cater maximum comfort for passengers with more space, a lighting system using LED technology, the level of cabin’s humidity and pressure maintained at 1.8km altitude levels, which helps reduce passengers’ fatigue on long flights. Passengers can enjoy spacious recliners on the flights. In addition, seats in business class cabins are all 180-degree reclining.

The airline offers three classes. The business class cabin has 1-2-1 configuration with the seat arrangement following a fishbone shape, allowing all passengers to access the aisles from anywhere. The seating area is private with modern, large entertainment touch screens. Armrests can be raised and lowered depending on the needs of passengers. The special economy class seats will also impress passengers with convenient front footrests, leg rests, hangers, and headrests. The economy class cabin of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner also caters to the comfort of passengers with cushioned seats and reasonable distances between seats of about 0.8m.

In addition, Bamboo Airways' Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner "Sam Son Beach" also has its own upgrades with fewer ess seats to ensure passengers’ comfort in all classes.

The main model of aircraft to be operated on international routes

In addition to "Sam Son Beach”, another Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner of Bamboo Airways continued to arrive to Vietnam on January 19, named after "Quy Nhon City".

The wide-body aircraft is put into operation on three routes including Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi-Phu Quoc, and Ho Chi Minh City-Thanh Hoa to meet the travel needs in the Lunar New Year 2020.

With the ability to carry a maximum of 294 passengers for distances of up to 17,400km, the wide-body fleet, which is expected to include 12 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, by the end of 2020, will play a key role in the exploitation of Bamboo Airways’ medium and long-haul routes to Czechoslovakia, Germany, Australia, and the USA, among others, or to the source markets of Bamboo Airways in Northeast Asia such as Japan and Korea.

Previously, in December 2019, Bamboo Airways welcomed the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner named after "Ha Long Bay" from the Boeing’s second 787 Dreamliner final assembly and delivery facility in South Carolina, US. The aircraft has been put into commercial operation since January 1, 2020 on the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route, which has received a lot of positive feedback from customers.

The milestone that marks a new age for the airline

Starting commercial operations on January 16, 2019, Bamboo Airways is the first private airline in Vietnam to operate wide-body aircraft, currently operating 40 domestic and international routes.
