The PBAT Compostable Resin Plant is the first green material factory in Southeast Asia among several high-tech investment projects. The factory is located in Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park (Haiphong) and has a capacity of 30,000 tonnes per annum.

It is slated to be completed after 24 months. With the total investment capital of $120 million, the factory will not only meet all of An Phat Holdings' material demand but also serve export purposes.

With the investment in technology and machinery, PBAT’s operating efficiency is highly optimised with an average operating time of 8,400 hours, equivalent to 350 days per year. The factory is also highly automated, which is expected to create jobs for about 200 high-quality workers.

At the launch ceremony, Pham Anh Duong, chairman of An Phat Holdings said, "The project is the best and most reasonable solution to An Phat Holdings’ material source, creating less dependence on raw materials supply, reducing prices to get closer to consumers' needs, and move towards replacing traditional plastic products."

“An Phat Holdings will represent Vietnam on the global map of green materials and become a pioneer in implementing our commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050”, he said.

Currently, An Phat Holdings has received the transfer design from Technip Zimmer – the world’s leading supplier of technology solutions for large-scale and complex industrial plants. As a result, the PBAT Compostable Resin Plant offers exceptional quality, self-contained standards, and the most cutting-edge production line.

Through this project, An Phat Holdings will complete the green circular ecosystem. It will become the first Vietnamese enterprise to produce bio-degradable plastic materials and products. When the PBAT factory is operational, the price of green products is also expected to drop by 20-30 per cent.

At the ceremony, Le Anh Quan, permanent Deputy chairman of Haiphong People’s Committee, highly appreciated the PBAT plant's contribution to the local economic development, particularly in terms of eliminating greenhouse emissions during the production process.
