Vietnamese plastic firms to cash in on global demand

Vietnamese plastics firms are availing of the mounting opportunities to develop their business amid a spike in global demand for plastic resins.

According to a forecast from Independent Community Intelligence Services, the global demand for plastic resins is expected to grow by 4.4 per cent annually between 2023-2025, mostly coming from China and the rest of the Asia-Pacific region, and Europe.

An Thanh Bicsol, a key member of An Phat Holdings, is one of the top plastic resin suppliers in Vietnam and has exported products to around 70 countries and territories across the globe.

The company is headquartered at An Phat Industrial Park in the southern province of Hai Duong, and has representative offices in the US, China, and Singapore.

Founded in 2017, An Thanh Bicsol has an extensive network nationwide with more than 2,500 customers, serving domestic and foreign partners with an average monthly output of 35,000 tonnes, and supplies high-quality plastic resins, additives, and materials in the plastic industry for plastic manufacturers around the globe.

Almost half of the company's revenue comes from polyethylene resins and one-third from polypropylene resins. It mainly exports to Southeast Asia which accounts for 37 per cent of total export volume; South Asia and the Middle East comes second holding 32 per cent; the EU, the Americas, Africa, and China follows.

The company has witnessed swift growth, with its sales volume of plastic resins surging from 2,000 tonnes per month in 2017 to 13,000 tonnes per month in 2020. The growth momentum has continued, with sold volumes in 2021 eyed over 46 per cent jump, and in 2023 soared 84.2 per cent.

An Thanh Bicsol has set a target of producing 100,000 tonnes per month by 2030, equal to 50 times the volume of its early years.

With a headcount of nearly 200 experienced and creative employees, the company has succeeded in effectively availing of a closed supply chain from An Phat Holdings with comprehensive logistics systems, warehouses, and representative offices worldwide.

Currently, the company is constantly expanding customers, markets, and diversifying products.
