This enhanced version, currently piloting in Coca-Cola’s automated warehouse system, demonstrates Vietnam’s emerging leadership in sustainable logistics solutions.

The launch event, at the New World Saigon Hotel on July 3, brought together diplomats, investors, and sustainability experts. The event highlighted the product's role in the green transition and opened a comprehensive discussion forum on sustainable logistics. The forum featured representatives from global corporations, leading research organisations, and high-level academic representatives in Vietnam's circular economy sector.

"In Vietnam, AirXCarbon is making pallets for global companies like Coca-Cola and TTC Group using agricultural waste," said Sarah Hooper, Australian consul general in Ho Chi Minh City, "We are proud the Australian government’s initiative is supporting this innovative and impactful move to create sustainable products from carbon-negative materials sourced from the Mekong Delta Vietnam."

"We are not just building businesses, we are creating solutions that are tackling some of the world’s biggest sustainability challenges," said Thanh Le, CEO of AirX Carbon.

A climate-positive solution with measurable impact

Vietnam produces over 150 million tonnes of agricultural residues each year, much of which is burned or dumped, worsening pollution and wasting valuable biomass. NetZero Pallet transforms this untapped biomass into high-value industrial goods using clean technology and a patented bio-based binder. Each pallet:

  • Use 95 per cent agriwaste such as coconut waste and coffee husk;
  • Being wood-free, plastic-free, and non-toxic;
  • Acting as a certified carbon sink, storing up to 34kg of carbon per pallet.

Each 60 million NetZero Pallets produced can deliver:

  • 10,000,000 trees saved from being cut;
  • 2,000,000 tonnes of agriwaste upcycled;
  • 7,000,000 tonnes of carbon captured and stored;
  • Sustainable income for over 600,000 farmers and rural workers.

At a smaller scale, just 1,000 pallets can:

  • 62 tonnes of carbon reduced compared to plastic pallet production;
  • 4.1 tonnes of carbon reduced compared to wooden pallet production;
  • 170 trees preserved;
  • Avoiding tree harvesting for wooden pallet production allows continued absorption of up to 150 tonnes of carbon over their lifespan.

"Vietnam is embracing the future of sustainability with vision and leadership. Rather than following trends, it is actively contributing to global solutions," said Thao Tran, co-founder and chief strategy officer of AirX Carbon. "The NetZero Pallet demonstrates how local ingenuity and agricultural abundance can translate into global solutions. This innovation isn’t just about Vietnam – it’s about reimagining global logistics. We’re proving that circular solutions made from agriwaste can scale across borders."
