Vietnam Product Week in Japan has sold the first batch of Vietnamese fresh flowers under the AEON TOPVALU brand, marking a step forward in the journey of bringing Vietnamese products to the world.

This is an annual activity organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the People's Committee of Hanoi and AEON Group.

In 2024, sales of Vietnamese products sold during Vietnam Product Week in Japan recorded growth, reaching 111.4 per cent compared to 2023. This shows the positive interest from Japanese consumers for products introduced at the event.

According to Phan Thi Thang, deputy minister of industry and trade, Vietnamese goods have been making their mark in Japan. This year marks the first time Vietnam Product Week is being held simultaneously at AEON outlets across Asia.

"This expansion reflects the superiority of Vietnamese products and brands, and demonstrates AEON's strategic vision and long-term commitment to helping Vietnamese goods reach out to regional and global markets," Thang said.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan, Pham Quang Hieu, shared, "AEON Group has been making efforts to introduce Vietnamese products to consumers in Japan and other countries for nearly 10 years.

"The Embassy of Vietnam in Japan is committed to accompanying the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and AEON to bring high-quality goods and services from Vietnam to consumers in Japan and around the world," he noted.

Furusawa Yasuyuki, executive officer of AEON Co., Ltd in charge of the general merchandise store (GMS) business and general director of AEON Retail Co., Ltd., said, "Vietnam Product Week at AEON Japan this year is larger than ever before, with more booths exhibiting Vietnamese products, culture, and cuisine."

"I hope that this will be an opportunity for AEON Japan to collaborate with Vietnamese suppliers, bringing better quality products to consumers in Japan," Furusawa added.

AEON is focusing on promoting key product groups, notably dry foods such as instant noodles imported from Vietnam, TOPVALU noodles, TOPVALU rice paper, rice cakes, snacks, fish sauce, chilli sauce, marinades, nuts, desserts, and coffee.

Agricultural products are also being displayed, such as lychees, longan, bananas, coconuts, and dragon fruit., seafood and meat with ASC certification, and ready-made, ready-to-eat dishes such as Vietnamese bread with chicken, fried fish, and herbs; Household and lifestyle products are also contributing to the shopping experience.

This year marks the first time that Vietnamese fresh flowers under the AEON TOPVALU brand have been exported to Japan.

Currently, TOPVALU fresh flowers from Vietnam are being sold at 200 AEON stores and supermarkets in Japan, and are expected to expand to 300 stores and supermarkets by September.

AEON is working hard with Vietnamese suppliers to increase production, aiming to distribute AEON TOPVALU fresh flowers imported from Vietnam at 1,000 stores and supermarkets by 2026.

In 2025, AEON is continuing to expand the Vietnam Product Week to many Asian countries besides Japan, such as Hong Kong (China), Malaysia, and Cambodia, bringing a multidimensional Vietnamese cultural experience to international consumers.
