WHA Industrial Zone 1 Nghe An was the company’s first project in Vietnam. Set to boast a total area of 2,100ha after completion, it is already one of the largest smart eco-IPs in the north-central region, connecting new production and distribution facilities to serve domestic and international markets.

Phase 1 of establishment, covering nearly 150ha, was completed in 2019 and now features customers from the likes of China, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea. Phase 2, spanning 354ha, is currently being implemented and has started to hand over premises to customers.

Jareeporn Jarukornsakul, chairwoman of the executive committee and group CEO, said that Nghe An has a favourable investment environment, stable legal environment, and transparent policies.

“The provincial government proactively handles and supports investors well. In particular, it has opened mechanisms such as simplifying processes and procedures, and providing maximum support to them,” she said.

However, according to her, an excellent educational institutional system to supply a well-educated and skilled workforce is essential for industries to thrive, together with collaborations between enterprises and educational institutions to ensure a skilled labor pool can be beneficial to investors, while creating jobs for the local community.

Furthermore, a tax exemption investment package and the other benefits for investors would make Nghe An more competitive, the chairwoman of the executive committee and group CEO said.

Along with developing projects in Nghe An, WHA Group continues to expand to other localities in Vietnam, including a 540-ha project in Thanh Hoa province.
