On June 10, Vingroup organised the ground-breaking ceremony for its smartphone manufacturing project located in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park in Thach That district of Hanoi.
The plant covers an area of 15.2 hectares and the construction is divided into two phases. The first phase is expected to be completed on August 15, 2019 with the capacity of 23 million units per year. The second phase will be finished in October with the capacity of 34 million units per year. By early 2020, the total annual capacity of the plant will reach 125 million units.
The plant meets international standards applied on electronic and telecommunications equipment manufacturing plants. Besides, all equipment and machinery will be the most modern version, with numerous lines imported from the US, Germany, and Japan. Furthermore, Vingroup also co-operates with the world’s leading technology groups, namely Qualcomm, Google, ArcSoft, and DxO, to ensure it uses the most modern technology, while simultaneously co-operating with famous original design manufacturers. Vingroup targets achieving maximum automation, decreasing human error and increasing quality, and quantity, as well as accuracy.
“After joining the phone manufacturing sector, Vingroup received wide support from customers. Especially, the company received massive orders from large partners from Europe and the US, which was the reason for Vingroup’s decision to develop a second phone manufacturing plant with a capacity 25-times its existing plant in Haiphong to meet the increasing domestic and international demand,” said Nguyen Viet Quang, vice chairman cum general director of Vingroup.
Along with smartphones, VinSmart is going to release tablets and research the production of air conditioners, TVs, refrigerators, IoT devices, cameras, and 5G smartphones.
Earlier on May 29, VinSmart officially launched the Vsmart brand and products in Myanmar, continuing its way to conquer the international market as well as to swing for its ambition to boost the Vietnamese brand throughout the globe.
Besides, in March, Vsmart also made the first step into the European market through distributor MediaMarkt. By establishing its presence in Myanmar, Vingroup continues to affirm its global vision and ability to become a world-class technology group in the next 10 years. In 2019, Vsmart will continue to expand to the markets of India, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia.
