Addressing the event, Tran Le Hong, deputy head of the Intellectual Property Office under the Ministry of Science and Technology, said that IP is increasingly penetrating high schools with positive responses from students studying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Many students have already developed solutions which have great potential for IP protection rights.

“This shows that IP is an important tool even for high school students, helping them turn their dreams into useful innovative results,” he added.

The festival was hosted by Truong Thanh Media JSC and Smartschool JSC in cooperation with the Intellectual Property Office.

The initiative was held as the country enters a new era with expectations for breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

A representative of Smartschool JSC said that the company has worked with units under the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Intellectual Property Office to access and learn about new, advanced, and modern educational models.

“We are particularly impressed with the educational model of the World Intellectual Property Organisation, and have decided to apply this programme in preschools and general schools in Vietnam,” he shared.

At this year’s festival, students and teachers from Tan Dinh Primary School took part in visual activities, interactive games, and creative stage plays. Children learnt about IP rights and nurtured their passion for discovery, while learning how to appreciate and protect their creations, thereby becoming conscious, responsible, and courageous citizens who create new value for society.

The programme is the first step in a series of IP education activities for primary school students nationwide, aiming to build a generation of innovative citizens who respect and are aware of protecting their own and the community's IT assets.
