Attending the inauguration ceremony on June 9 were Phung Duc Tien, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Denny Abdi, the Indonesian ambassador to Vietnam; and leaders of Vaksindo along with various other honoured guests.
The factory, which commenced construction in April 2022, covers over 20,000 square metres and features a two-floor design with plans for future expansion. As the largest veterinary vaccine factory in Vietnam, Vaksindo aims to supply high-quality international standard vaccines for the domestic market and for export.
The new facility is GMP - WHO certified and will operate five production lines over a 9,000 square metre production area, focusing on tissue culture-based vaccines, egg-based vaccines, and bacterial vaccines. Its key products are designed to cater to the needs of swine, cattle, and poultry.
Speaking at the ceremony, Teguh Yodiantara Prajitno, Vaksindo managing director, said, "We are steadfast in our determination to develop specific solutions for the region to deal with disease challenges."
"This state-of-the-art vaccine factory will primarily serve the goal of ensuring disease safety for Vietnam's livestock and contributing to the sustainable development of the industry," he added.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said, "This is an important event as we face a burgeoning demand for vaccines. With its commitment to modern technology and in-depth research to international standards, we expect Vaksindo Vietnam to soon meet domestic demand and soon after, begin exporting."

Indonesian ambassador Denny Abdi said, "Vaksindo is the top veterinary vaccine manufacturer in Indonesia, and the vaccines produced by Vaksindo are backed by innovative research and strictly adhere to international standards for quality and safety. I believe that research between Indonesia and Vietnam in animal health can be strengthened to minimise outbreaks and predict future epidemics. Such a partnership will not only benefit both countries but also the world."
