Besides appropriate human resource strategies and an inspiring working environment, Techtronic Industries Vietnam's (TTI) success in winning the Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2023 award lies in establishing a responsible business model through its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy.

Thanks to its ESG strategy, Techtronics Industries Group has been able to achieve solid business results. This success is marked by several prestigious awards, such as Most Honoured Company by Institutional Investor – an international financial publication – and the 2022 ESG Achievement Award.

Stephan Horst Pudwill, vice chairman of TTI said, "Sustainable development is an integral part of our business that contributes to boosting performance and minimises risk. In addition, we have the capability to further improve the management activities relating to our ESG strategy."

TTI's ESG outlook has made several positive contributions to social and community development in Vietnam.

The efforts have led to investments in constructing a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Ho Chi Minh City's High-Tech Park that meets LEED standards – a certification for energy-efficient and environmentally friendly architectural design and construction to reduce CO2 emissions.

The company has consistently offered a variety of training programmes and encouraged employees to maximise their skills and expertise.

In addition, TTI recently signed a letter of commitment to align the company with the mission of the Paris Agreement, showing the company's dedication to achieving a 60 per cent reduction in emissions by 2030.

Besides its commitment to protect and preserve the environment, TTI is also committed to supporting community development. Through its collaboration with the global non-profit organisation Habitat for Humanity, TTI has implemented housing support projects, sanitation and clean water initiatives, and disaster relief for vulnerable communities in Vietnam.

Recently, TTI's employees joined 2,300 other workers, union members, business owners, and trade union officials in Ho Chi Minh City for a charity walk to contribute to the City Workers' Support Fund. The fund is there to assist union members in disadvantaged circumstances.

Nguyen Duy That, senior preventive maintenance engineer at TTI said, “I feel positive about the company culture and how TTI invests in human development. The company strongly encourages and supports employees to participate in volunteer activities, creating a positive impact on society and a better working environment. It builds pride, team spirit, and sense of contributing to a greater goal.”

The company regularly implements activities to improve the spiritual life of employees and create internal connections through sports and team-building activities, with gifts given to employees on their birthdays and other holidays.

Engineer Nguyen Duy That was eager to share, “For us, as employees, it is important that TTI has created a friendly and supportive working environment that encourages collaboration and information exchange between departments and working groups. Projects implemented at TTI require collaboration and teamwork to achieve common goals, and this spirit is encouraged and appreciated within the company. Therefore, TTI gives me the motivation to comprehensively develop myself.”

The Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2023 award, voted by HR Asia magazine, is evidence of TTI's efforts. The award is based on an overall evaluation model of employee satisfaction through three metrics: Core (Human Resource Structure), Self (Individual Performance), and Group (Team Spirit).

“With a multinational working environment, we provide training opportunities and excellent career experience for employees both at home and abroad, promoting professional exchange and improving the qualifications of our colleagues around the world,” An continued.

Having started its operation in Vietnam in August 2018, currently TTI Vietnam has grown to nearly 10,000 employees working in eight manufacturing facilities, a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City, and two Milwaukee Heavy-Duty Centres in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

In Vietnam, TTI's main business areas include power tools, accessories, hand tools, outdoor power equipment, and floor care and cleaning.
