Strong sales across Ford lineup in Vietnam

Ford Vietnam today announced September sales that rose 76 per cent from the previous month to 2,327 vehicles, driven by strong sales across the Ford lineup with the launch of the new Ranger and new Everest providing a significant boost to the company’s sales momentum.

“Healthy supply of both the new Ranger and new Everest in Vietnam, together with continued strength in demand across our entire Ford lineup, is givingus a lot of confidence heading into the fourth quarter,” said Pham Van Dung, managing director of Ford Vietnam.

The recently launched new Ranger led Ford’s September resurgence with sales of 624 vehicles. The Ranger – Vietnam’s best-selling pickup truck since 2014 – is continuing its leading position in 2018 with year-to-date sales of 3,854 vehicles.

The Everest mid-size delivered its all-time best monthly performance in Vietnamwith September sales of 541 vehicles. The new Everest takes its capability, efficiency and safety to the next level with stunning off-road and on-road performance, advanced technology, bold design and even more refinements to its interior comfort.

The popular Transit continued to lead Vietnam’s commercial van segment in September with sales of 451 vehicles. Year-to-date sales of the Transit have risen 2 per cent to 4,676 vehicles, as its durability, versatility, and value proposition continue to attract business owners and operators across a wide-range of industries.

The new EcoSport remained Vietnam’s best-selling compact SUV, delivering September sales that increased 33 per cent from the prior month to 456 vehicles, helping push its year-to-date total sales up 15 per cent to 3,377 vehicles.

EcoSport features a choice of two engine variants - the award-wining EcoBoost 1.0L and 1.5LTiVCT engine – and builds on the success of its predecessor with a number of upgrades and enhancements to its design, performance and safety features.

September sales of the sporty Focus rose 2 per cent from August to 184 vehicles. Year-to-date sales of the 1.5L EcoBoost-equipped Focus have increased 60 per cent to 1,397 vehicles.

The U.S.-imported Explorer SUV premium SUV – equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost engine – saw September sales rise 15 per cent to 47 vehicles, pushing its year-to-date sales to 466 vehicles. The supply for this US-imported model is back to normal in the fourth quarter.
