SCG supports Binh Duong in uplifting public health

The outdoor gym has a total cost of around $23,000, encompassing outdoor sports kits, a volleyball court, a badminton court, a youth house, several games for kids, and more. The gym is expected to attract around 10,000 people monthly.

“Improving public health is a key direction of the government in each province. People are well aware of the importance of sports and a healthy environment,” said Piyapong Jriyasetapong, general director of SCG Vietnam. “Recognising this, we are proud to work with Binh Duong province to construct an outdoor gym, offering green space and a fresh atmosphere for locals. We believe, with this public space, people will be encouraged to develop a healthy lifestyle.”

The outdoor gym in Binh Duong is a multi-sport complex suitable for different age groups and was built by the Service and Solution Department of SCG Cement-Building Materials, with premium materials. It was designed by Think Playgrounds, a pioneer social enterprise with the mission of renovating public playgrounds in Vietnam.

Through the joint efforts of all parties, the project is expected to be user- and environmentally friendly, playing a vital role in promoting outdoor exercises among the community.

The SCG Outdoor Gym in Binh Duong offers equipment for many sports

“We realise that many provinces and cities in Vietnam have a shortage of playgrounds and public spaces. This prevents kids from having a playful childhood and adults from increasing their quality of life. Therefore, we are glad to be with SCG to design and build the outdoor gym in Binh Duong province,” said Nguyen Tieu Quoc Dat, co-founder of Think Playgrounds.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan, member of the Binh Duong Party Committee and secretary of the Binh Duong Youth Union said, "We appreciate SCG's significant support to the people in Binh Duong province throughout the years. This outdoor gym will serve as a place for sports and other interactions, thus helping to uplift local communities for a better living.”

In 2021, SCG and its member companies supported Binh Duong with medical equipment valued at more than $43,400, as well as 1,500 field hospital beds, and 16 modular bathrooms, among others.
