Vietnam's packaging industry is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by several key trends that reflect the country's evolving consumer landscape. The rising demand for premium and convenient products, particularly in the food and beverage sector, highlights the changing preferences and lifestyles of Vietnamese consumers, who now prioritise high-quality, aesthetically pleasing packaging solutions.

This shift is further amplified by the rapid growth of e-commerce, projected to reach $23.77 billion by 2029, creating a pressing need for durable and visually appealing packaging that enhances the customer experience and ensures product safety during transit. Additionally, urbanisation and rising incomes are boosting demand for retail-ready packaging, which is crucial for showcasing products in Vietnam's modernising retail landscape.

In response to these emerging trends, Packaging Speak Out 2024 - Vietnam offers a platform for young designers to learn, create, and grow. The competition is structured to address these industry demands head-on, encouraging participants to develop innovative solutions that are both practical and forward-thinking.

Driven by the motivation from previous achievements, this year, SCGP is elevating the competition to new heights. The company has formed collaborations with renowned brands like Mondelez Kinh Do and Barona - Nam Phuong Food, aiming to strengthen the links between students and businesses while nurturing a creative community focused on a brighter future. Packaging Speak Out 2024 - Vietnam aligns seamlessly with SCGP's broader mission of empowering young talent and promoting sustainability in the packaging industry. By investing in the creativity and passion of Vietnam's youth, SCGP believes it is shaping the future of packaging and contributing significantly to a more sustainable and innovative Vietnam.

Under the theme “Packaging for a Brighter Tomorrow”, Packaging Speak Out 2024 - Vietnam encapsulates the company's dedication to revitalising the Vietnamese packaging industry through innovation and sustainable growth. Participants are encouraged to submit packaging designs utilising paper, plastic, or a combination of both, tailored for products from prominent brands such as Mondelez Kinh Do and Barona - Nam Phuong Food, across categories including sustainable packaging for e-commerce, gift sets, and marketing displays.

The competition welcomes students aged 17 to 25 and is open to all genders and nationalities, provided applicants are residents of Vietnam and enrolled in a Vietnamese educational institution. Contestants can participate individually or in groups of up to three members, allowing for collaboration across different universities.

To recognise and reward outstanding talent and innovation in sustainable packaging design, the competition offers a substantial total prize pool of VND180 million ($7,296). This significant prize will be distributed across various categories and special awards, demonstrating SCGP's commitment to fostering creativity and sustainability in the packaging industry.

A seminar for Packaging Speak Out 2024 - Vietnam will be held on September 21 at HUTECH University. This event will feature a keynote session by renowned packaging design expert Andy Ho, CEO and executive creative director of Bracom Agency, who will explore the latest packaging trends in Vietnam and their impact on design practices.
