Truong Anh Hai, deputy director, NS Bluescope Vietnam, provided a brief overview of the labour safety awareness and sharing programme

Vo Minh Nhut, country president of NS BlueScope Vietnam, said: “Backed by our group’s history and practices of safety management across large-scaled factories across the globe, we put a particular focus on executing labour safety and hygiene procedures in every production and assembly activity. We regularly organise labour safety training courses for our staff, holding occupational contests as well as investing in training centres to keep improving employees’ awareness of labour safety. By initiating the labour safety and hygiene awareness programme in Vietnam, we expect to improve businesses’ awareness of labour safety, thereby supporting the sustainable development of businesses."

Operating three big factories in Vietnam producing hundreds of tonnes of steel per year, NS BlueScope Vietnam has reported no serious labour incidents during the past five years, which greatly contributed to the achievement of its business objectives.

NS BlueScope Vietnam is strongly committed to social responsibility ever since its establishment. The Company did implement several meaningful projects to support community and social growth.

The newly launched programme is the second link in the chain of initiatives to improve labour safety awareness from early 2017 that are aimed at promoting the sustainable growth of businesses operating in localities where NS BlueScope Vietnam’s factories are located. The first session has been successfully implemented and was well received by enterprises in Dong Nai’s industrial zones.
